MoltenMountain (aka Roadtruss 2.0)
« on: May 09, 2012, 09:18:56 am »

Fort those that missed it... Roadtruss was my first FINISHED Megaprogect.
Sure we all start some up, but often get bored and set them aside.
But this one, this one I finished, I got to a point where I could hang it up and look at it with pride.

But... What next?

When you finish making a 67zlevel tower, and a massive underground city... What do you next?
Well, some suggested building ANOTHER huge tower...IN HELL

Enter MOLTENMOUNTAIN!
A volcano with not one, but FOUR Magmapipes leading down into the molten sea baby.
Here is a cross-section of the mountain itself. You will not the primary Volcano is dead center at the back of the mountain.  The entrance leads almost directly into it.

Here we have the entrance itself, rather crude right now:

Here we can see not one, but FOUR Magama pipes as revealed by my minners.
I plan to, at some point, dig all FOUR of them to the surface, have vast open pits of magma :D

Oh yes, and something that is a pain in the ASS
Designating the Whole underground city for my dwarves to live in.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Finally the outer walls, which I plant to wrap around the entire mountain at some point.

So yeah... Going to build the mother of all forts above ground, and then, then conquer hell and build a tower from the bottom to the top just as massive

I have no doubt you could build a Tower in hell...The only thing is the Hell...residents. They dont seem like sharing.

Yep.

Two years into it already Just got my first siege, mowed down mostly with archers.

The river bisecting the fort has been awesome because it's uncrossable.
An ambus spawned on the far side and the goblins were all mowed down by an evil mist ;P

Just spray them with seltzer water and you'll be fine.

Two years into the game and so far there has been some "FUN"

Down in the sealed off underground, I have had FOUR Megabeasts in TWO years.
The Fun?
Three of these have been killed by an un-named ant civilization! I am hoping to go into legends to put together the battlers. There is about a dozen dead Ant Warriors over the past two years, and epic battles to be sure.

In other news...

Candy processing has started... I found Thre spires that go up all the way to the third level, almost 14 levels of candy above the magma see, so I am going to have more then enough to armour up my best and most fearless warriors.

Construction above ground in the Block Factory goes.
Right now I have about 450 Osbidan blocks waitign to be used, 370 granite blocks and a similar number of eacvh already used in contruction of the walls.

In other news My plans for building a mega tower in Hell continue as I have located a "Hidden Fun Fort" and plan on encasing the whoel thing in cast obsdian ":P

Into my Fourth year now and just had my THIRD siege.
Three sieges in four years. Hmmm...

That couldn't Possibly have anything to do with the vast, VAST amounts of Masterwork Candy armor my Legendary Armorsmith is turning out, could it?
NAHHHHH
