So... if the last ice age was only 10k years ago, shouldn't we be warming up anyways? You can't look at the last few years to determine long term trends like this. You can check rock layers for some data, but it's not nearly accurate enough to forecast year by year temperature.

As an addendum to this I'd like to note that in climate science there are paid hacks who do nothing more for a living then come up with plausible sounding theories to try and debunk climate science.  So if you have an idea for why something in climate science is wrong then the odds are overwhelmingly in favor of that idea having been proposed already.

Presumably you have not considered this before.  I ask you to consider it before trying to debunk climate science in the future.  Because while I have no doubt that the answer to your query is available on the internet it's a bit impolite of you to expect people to spend a couple hours finding and assimilating the research that answers the questions that took you all of fifteen seconds to post.  If you are interested, why not find out for yourself?

Oh, and here is a nice thing. Not a video, but a serie of article, each rebutting a common argument by the climate deniers. If you think global warming is an hoax for such and such reasons, check it against this list, I'm betting it's there somewhere, along with the rebuttal.

I assume its similar to the same sight for the evolution deniers.

Hell, it might even BE the same sight, I hear they've branched out.

But hell if I can remember what they were called...

Edit:
TalkOrigins. Found a link from it to RealClimate - got no idea how good they are, but if this thread is gonna start turning legit with people maybe learnign some shit, its certainly a start.

Dunno if it's the list he meant but this list seems alright:  http://grist.org/series/skeptics/

The "greenland used to be green" item is pretty entertaining in a tragicomical way.

I like the articles, but some of the comments make my head hurt...

Besides, if they wanted to increase their power base they'd make sure they controlled a large portion of the fossil fuel reserves, whilst developing a form of power generation that could be used without those reserves to power their own country.

Then they'd sell the oil to other countries which lack the infrastructure to develop and construct the alternate power source, selling it at exactly the right price and at the right intervals to keep them economically and socially crippled whilst still functional, preventing them from being capable of rising to be a threat and leaving them constantly indebted, allowing for you to make more and more demands off of them by leaning on the debt, stealing the rest of their resources from them before they even realised it was happening.

I may have put too much thought into this idea.
