More wheelbarrow issues.
« on: May 24, 2012, 07:00:56 am »

So, I redownloaded 34.10 to try and get access to wheelbarrows and minecarts, and they are not there. But, in the DF folder, I found a txt document called errorlog. Inside were these lines

*** Error(s) finalizing the entity MOUNTAIN
Unrecognized entity tool token: ITEM_TOOL_MINECART
Unrecognized entity tool token: ITEM_TOOL_WHEELBARROW
*** Error(s) finalizing the entity PLAINS
Unrecognized entity tool token: ITEM_TOOL_WHEELBARROW
*** Error(s) finalizing the entity MOUNTAIN
Unrecognized entity tool token: ITEM_TOOL_MINECART
Unrecognized entity tool token: ITEM_TOOL_WHEELBARROW
*** Error(s) finalizing the entity PLAINS
Unrecognized entity tool token: ITEM_TOOL_WHEELBARROW

Is there any way to get those things to be finalized?

Thanks.

Wait, stop.  Start from the beginning.

You are on ____ operating system.  You downloaded the file at ____ URL.  You used ____ to extract the archive into ____ directory which was a brand new directory that did not have an older version of Dwarf Fortress in it.

You ran DF by doing _____.  You generated a world using ____ settings.  You embarked, and you built _____ workshop.  You looked in the workshop menu and saw _____.

Ok, sorry.

I'm on Windows 7. I downloaded the file at http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/df_34_10_win.zip. I used winzip to extract the file to a folder called Dwarf Fortress 34.10. Before I unzipped into the folder,  I deleted the all the files from the old version which had been in the folder.

To run DF, I clicked on the application .exe file in the folder. I used advanced world generation, set it for a min of 30 volcanoes, moved civ count up to 100, raised my embark points slightly, and then lowered the min grassland count(because I kept getting a bunch of rejections for not enough grassland tiles). I started to embark, and could not buy wheelbarrows from the embark screen.

I'm using Ironhand .72, which is the one updated for 34.10. The only thing I changed in the init file was changing Map rejection log to yes.

EDIT: So, I had started a new fortress to see if wheelbarrows worked on a brand new world, and once again, they were not available on embark, nor were they available to build in my carpenter's workshop. But after my third wave of immigrants, I all of a sudden have the ability to build wheelbarrows and mine carts.

Is it the kind of thing where you have to get a migrant that knows how to build them, and then they're "unlocked"?
