Help! no minecarts or wheelbarrows in 34.08

So I added the fortress defense mode for 34.07 with 0.34.08, and now I don't have minecarts or wheelbarrows.  How can I add them back in?

The only thing I can imagine was overwriting entity_default.txt with the older version.  I tried adding the old one back and restarting the game, but still nothing.  Do I have to gen a new world or just start a new fort?

Most entity changes require a new world.

However, yes, this would be because AFAIK they're both tools that would need to be allowed by the entity.
You might want to simply find the relevant lines from their entry in the text and copy them over to the one from the mod, otherwise you'll probably miss out on mod content instead.

   [TOOL:ITEM_TOOL_MINECART]
   [TOOL:ITEM_TOOL_WHEELBARROW]
drop those in your entity

and make sure item_tools.txt is from the 34.08
