Since I need to activate an account to post on the Eve forums, and I don't really want to do that if the game won't work, I figured I might as well post here.


So, I decided to play Eve again after a few years hiatus. I still had the game on my computer and all I needed to do was update. I downloaded a few updates, then got to a 19mb one. It downloaded, then when it tried to install, I got this:



Running on windows 7, I figured it was a permissions issue. I tried all the normal fixes; run in admin, run in compatibility for windows xp, etc. None of them worked. So I tried a reinstall.

I Uninstalled the game and tried to download from the Eve website, but for some reason none of the download links worked. I remembered seeing it on steam, so I downloaded from there. It worked fine, until the 19mb patch where I got that elevation error.

Anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this?
