I definitely like the idea of bathhouses. Nobles could require fancy, personal baths (maybe even a bathtub furniture? - the kind you fill up with a bucket), while peasants could all use the same communal baths. Bathing would keep the dwarves cleaner and less likely to become ill, plus give them happy thoughts (has had a relaxing/refreshing bath lately?), and baths deep enough would teach them how to swim.
