I have another question... I just killed a Raven but didn't seem able to butcher its corpse and I can only seem to lick it instead of consuming it. Is there a workaround here with a campfire maybe? This game is making me feel like such a savage hahaha

There's probably some jackass right under the hatch hogging the staircase. Try lying down with 's' and then using the stairway.

to go up or down a stairwell use the alt+5 to force a movemeant 5 wont work and shift+5 only makes you go up

You have to drink the blood of an existing vampire.

The easiest way to do that is to accept a job to kill a vampire and then accuse it when a bunch of villagers are around so that you'll have help against the foul creature. If a Ranger or guard is handy, they'll often kill the vamp right before you can walk over to it.
