Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller is dead
« on: April 16, 2012, 01:33:59 pm »

This man was like Ramses to me, he did everything in the honour of his father, A. P. Møller Mærsk.
He was my moms biggest idol, she cried when she heard of his death. The man had an empire, and he knew how to rule it. I assume he died happy, because he was happy most of the recent time.

The man who turned AP Møller-Maersk into the most important force in world shipping, Maersk McKinney-Møller, has died at the age of 98 after nearly 72 years as one of the main decision makers at Denmark’s biggest multinational.
The death of Møller, who served as the group’s chief executive from 1965 until reaching 80 in 1993, severs the last connection between the company’s day-to-day management and the McKinney-Møller family that founded the group in 1904 and still controls it through charitable trusts.
