A few questions on the subject of zombies (Some spoilers)
« on: April 12, 2012, 02:15:19 am »

I have a few fun things I'd like to try with a new fort that is situated right next door to a Necromancer Tower, but I want to check first.

1; Do zombies and vampires attack Clowns?

2; Do they maintain their fighting ability while on fire?

3; What's the type of bodies that a captured necromancer can revive?  A zombie's corpse? fort dwarf corpses?

1. Yes
2. Yes.
3. Yes to both.

1. Yes
2. Yes.
3. Yes to both.

Wonderful.  I just wanted to make sure before I start my new fortress project.

Somehow, I just know you'll be able to come up with something more horrifying than Swordthunders.

BRING IT ON!

Seeing as I've now confirmed what I hoped, I plan to cage a necromancer.  He'll then be placed in a specially-prepared chamber connected to what will be a breach into the HFS.  Within his 'lair', corpses and pieces will be dumped down a long chute so that he can revive them.  Once he has a suitably large army, a suicide dwarf will breach the HFS, and the undead will meet the clowns...

It's been done.

But with thralls.

The thralls won.

That's not the same; they're psychotic beserkers.  I'm gonna defeat Hell with shambling corpses!

Fire clowns can be defeated by fighting them in a trickle of water. While zombies don't really mind being on fire, they do sometimes burn to ash almost immediately and the corpses of the fallen will just be kindling. A damp or even aquatic battlefield may give team zombie the edge.

Never had a bat massacre people with an axe before.
EDIT2: Oh god, the bat has got a title now.

That would make it a sane and carefully-prepared idea.  I intend to just throw hordes of shambling corpses at the clowns and watch the carnage

Just make sure you throw the pieces to the necromance via an airlock otherwise your dwarves might be killed by a Yak Hair Zombie

I got fed up with my fortress, so I decided to kill everyone (abandon is for elves) with a cave-in.

OK, cave-ins were always pretty deadly, but with the new falling object damage they are downright brutal.  As far as I can make out from the logs, many people were killed by the flying bodies of other victims.  One baby's corpse ricocheted off three other people, two walls and the floor.

Just look at my Signature...I was tottaly unprepared at the time hehe

Necromancer towers are great Fun.
I was forced to lock myself inside my fortress for a couple years with 100+ Undead outside,
wich turned to 134 due to migrante waves feeding them more corpses.

Ironicaly, a goblin Ambush saved me, they swept the map of the undead.*sigh*

Question:

Can demons be raised from the dead by a necromancer?

I believe they have [CANNOT_UNDEAD] as part of their randomly-generated-ness.
