Dead Man
« on: April 03, 2012, 08:41:26 am »

Just found a human corpse in a murky pool. No human traders/etc. arrived at the fort this first year when they should have done. Indeed, only 1 group of elven and dwarven traders have been here, no ambushers, theives, or anything. I check the deceased list to find his name, and just found him in a pool. No announcement that he was found, or that he died, or that he arrived, or anything in the gamelog... any idea? I thought it might be possible that he's a body that was just lying around, Toady said something about historic battlefields and stuff, and that I've only just found him in the pool, but I find that hard to believe. It's "corpse" too, so it's fresh. No idea.

I think it's the way towns develop now. In the beginning, people move into a town. Then they start producing tables, which results in more and more tables. Soon tables represent a significant portion of the population, they start lobbying for new laws and regulations, putting people to greater and greater disadvantage...

Could be to do with the fact that adventure mode stuff now stays around when you die.

Just copied the save out then abandoned so I could check legends. Wow.

It's a Bull werewoman. She killed loads of people, then "Drowned in *my fortress*". My guess? She invaded, maybe as a bull or not, but the key point was she was an "ambusher". She then proceeded to swim through a pool under my wall and drowned. Probably was a bull, then transformed back half way through swimming, the point is she was totally unnoticed. No messages or anything. Anyway, clears that up, I'll pump the water out, put her in a coffin and think of something to do.

Well if the werecritter was sneaking and drowned without having ever been spotted by your dorfs then yeah you wont get any messages. Dwarves don't find non-friendly corpses, they just appear on the map.
