Is there something wrong with DFFD?
« on: May 07, 2008, 03:02:00 pm »

I can't download anything. It just says "you're redirected from another page, try the direct link" when I click DOWNLOAD NOW. I was able to download yesterday, but today I can't.
I haven't changed anything and I have nothing but windows xp firewall.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem? Also if noone can't, can anyone reupload ton external mirror sean mirrsen's minerals mod, Martial Arts 1.61 and my Middle Earth 2.0 (I've lost it) please?

Just checked, it's working fine for me here. What else might have changed in your setup?

It sounds like the error you're encountering is due to the "referer" info not being sent on which the site needs to confirm. The likely cause would be either an overzealous software firewall (default XP firewall should be fine) or a crappy download manager.

I don't know what your problems are...  it usually works fine for me.

Did you try browsing the site itself? I mean, like going to http://dffd.wimbli.com  and browsing to the file you need from there?

I uploaded my mods to rapidshare, jic...

Do this then, go here: http://dffd.wimbli.com/checkvar.php
Then post the results to me through the DFFD contact form, with the referral info from both before and after you click the self-referring link on the page.

If the "Referring page" is blank both times, it's definitely due to something on your end (firewall, advanced browser settings, download manager, something) blocking the "referer" data from being sent.

Since I haven't heard anything more, I assume you fixed the problem you were having on your end?

The referer link isn't changing.
Though I can download again for some reason, I haven't changed anything...
Thank you for your attention.

Quite odd. It should be listed as this page first (http://www.bay12games.com/cgi-local/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=001899), then as itself (http://dffd.wimbli.com/checkvar.php) once you click the link at the bottom of the page.
If it's not doing precisely that and it's also not completely blank both times, there's something rather screwy going on on your end.
