It's especially funny when you lose to the berserkers, and then reclaim and get ambushed by them.

The most funny time for me was when I had this huge underground tree farm growing in an evil biome. The dwarves lived in underground cave wood above-ground buildings in its center. A legendary miner went berserk due to a fey mood failing (oops), butchered my fresh recruits I sent to kill him in an orgy of blood and killed everyone else in the immediate vicinity before I walled him off. This was in an evil biome, so of course everyone's corpse would rise. Not that that mattered at that point, because I had walled off access to food, liquor as well as all my picks, and the remaining dwarves tore each other apart in a melancholic rage anyway.

Upon reclaiming that place, with the two entire z-levels of thick underground forest being now unexplored, I felt like I was in Aliens as the jungle was crawling with horrible things, namely dwarf corpses, a named mule corpse I had trapped in a sealed chamber long ago, forgotten beasts, and even the original berserking miner, that would repeatedly ambush anybody I sent there to rediscover the lost fortress. Quite horrible.

It is said knowledge is like a foul-smelling herb. It must be cooked well and thoroughly with experience to make it palatable. A young scholar's knowledge is therefore not only worthless but disgusting. -- In Dwarf Fortress you have another paradigm. Gather as much of that smelly herb as you can and toss it at your enemy, fracturing his skull through the +capybara man leather cap+.

I've spent some years wondering how the hell people managed to get tantrum spirals, as it never happened to me. All the dwarves in all my forts were always ecstatic. Then a dragon killed a third of my dwarves in my last fortress. So much !!FUN!!
