I had a artifact mechanism worth about 3m i believe.  I used it to build a well, and had the well rebuilt several times until it was a masterwork architecture job.  The effect on my fortress wealth was quite insane.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.

Slapping a weapon trap together with an artifact mechanism and an otherwise useless artifact blowgun is also spectacularly effective at keeping dwarves happy.

I prefer an artifact mech + artifact candy crossbow set up. Can never get enough of the good ones.
