@Hunger Games

Readable, but nothing interesting.

Eh, personally I think that Huxley did it in a more interesting way than Orwell. For one thing, Strange New World doesn't turn the authoritarian government into a Disneyesque villain.
Disneyesque villain? In 1984? Who?

The Tomb by F.Paul Wilson. Great book. Favorite author. It's a guilty pleasure that I always fall back on when trying to read something else.

How good for pleasure reading is As Many Liars: The Story Of The 1995 Manitoba Vote-Splitting Scandal by Doug Smith?

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

The government as a whole. It was rather heavyhanded (particularly once it got to Smith's torture). As someone else noted, Brave New World's government, while not exactly great, at the least wasn't just hamfistedly evil. There were points where you could honestly see some speck of sense behind its policies, even if you disagreed.

@Black Company Ratings

Which one was Soliders Live and Water Sleeps. If they are 9 and 10 then cool but if they are 7 and 8 that what are 9 and 10? I personally liked the last one, it had a generally satfysing clousure.

Water Sleeps is 9 and Soldiers Live is 10.

He's eventually going to write more of them. Not fast enough though, in my opinion.

I don't really know what plot he can put them in. They are pretty much unstopable with mgic shooting bamboo guns and Croaker's spear of +1 god slaying.

When the protagonists have everything, all you need to do to create conflict is to take away their goodies and have them kicked in the balls while some of their friends are left bleeding out in the alleys. Glen Cook seems to be this kind of writer to me.

True, Catcher will probably be realsed or something. Also the Black Company would be amazing in a Game of Thrones crossover, think about it...
