Recursive Artifact

Asmel Bomrek, "The Merchant of Whipping", a native platinum puzzlebox

This is a native platinum puzzlebox. All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. This object is adorned with hanging rings of native platinum.
On the item is an image of The Merchant of Whipping the native platinum puzzlebox in native platinum.
On the item is an image of dwarves in native platinum. The dwarves are traveling. The artwork relates to the foundation of Cobaltdune by The Coincidental Pick of The Symmetric Plank in 56.

It's sort of appropriate that it's a puzzlebox.

I once had a ring that had the name of the maker and an image of itself on it.

A dwarf had the sheer audacity to waste precious platinum on anything other than a warhammer?

Have him killed.

I think some puzzle-boxes are best left unsolved.

Both very common and not at all as mysteeeeeerious as some folk pretend it is. Just because it depicts itself doesn't mean the depiction is a 100% accurate and therefore doesn't necessarily mean the depiction carries a depiction which depicts a depiction of the artefact itself. The real-life Droste effect doesn't warp the laws of physics either.

I'd like some puzzle boxes, the puzzles I had before were a bit disappointing. Also, they taught me that sometimes brute force will solve a puzzle faster than trying to find the solution.

"If brute force doesn't work, you're not using enough force!"

You'd do well in Rubber-hose cryptanalysis.
