I've recently been doing some !!SCIENCE in adventure mode, specifically on the capabilities of the various werebeasts. I've recently found a werebear. Unfortunately, it seems that the werebear is either really freaking powerful in and of itself or it's a high ranking wrestler; given the strength of the creature, it pretty much either bites my leg off then savages me (ded), snaps all my joints and eats me, or gets stuck in an eternal choking loop with me.

Since it takes to long to gen a new adventurer and wait for the next full moon, I've been savescumming, basically by force quitting. is there any better ways of doing this?

Not really. It doesn't matter too much, either, as the process from End Process to reloading the save is maybe five seconds worth of time.

And it's obvious but save just as you're about to fight the creature.  Pretty sure there's no more efficient way than that.

save. then make as many copies of your save file as you think are needed. then instead of force quitting, just keep reloading.
