Vampire babies?
« on: March 24, 2012, 05:39:36 pm »

So I decided to look in the history file for my new .06 world, and Lo and behold the first civ on the list:

The Armory of Fangs, Dwarves
 Worship List
  [snip]
 King List

  • Åton Laborshoved (b.???, Reign Began: 1), *** Original Line, Married (d.105)

        14 Children -- Ages: 248 247 246 241 237 234 231 226 223 220 214 213 203 191
        Worships Orshar Whisperguises (22%)

So that is the ruler list. Now the Queen is a vampire, but all of her children seem to be immortal as well. Do vampires have vampire babies? Or do dwarves just live longer than I thought?

because everyone here is OCD and ADHD, and then complain when their dwarfs act similarly in game.

AFAIK the [MAXAGE:X:Y] in the raws means that dwarves will start to have a chance to die each year at age x, and will live to a maximum of y before meeting the Grim Reaper for sure. Since the unmodded dwarves have [MAXAGE:150:170], it does seem that the Queens children are immortal indeed. Remains the question if they were born that way, or turned vampire at a later age.

Are you sure all of those children are still alive? I'm pretty sure it'll still say that a dwarf had a particular child even if that child died.

I have noticed that sometimes the history says all of the children are still alive if the parent is immortal, even unto 1050 when they have died long ago.  I would check legends to be certain.

I like how the vampire's civ is called "The Armory of Fangs".
