ok so my idea is this, since my place is (mostly flat) except for the part of the giant cliff face, if i walled off the most outer edge of the map (5 tiles from the edge) and make it so that there is one section that is attached(liek a 10X10 square) and make a moat (filled with spikes) and a single bridge, will that make enemies have to come to my castle only through the bridge (if i wall off everywere i will even make it 2 tiles thick if need be), and i can lower the bridge and raise it when caravan/ migrants arive, but keep it raised otherwise (to keep ambush, unwanted animals, and any other animal that can't fly out.

you need to keep the bridge lowered or caravans will never have wagons.

I don't know the exact situation but yes, everything will have to come through your opening, if you block the whole edge of the map.
