They disappear when crossing the evil biome borders.

Where it enters and it's trajectory also comes into play. It might just be following the border, just wait, sooner or later something'll hop into the gloom and make your day, very, very bad.

Clouds prefer to flow downhill - although they like to surge up walls and cross into elevated marksdwarf bunkers. The only things I've seen stop a cloud from flowing 100% is when it tries to cross a volcano or when it tries to cross into a non-evil biome.

Husk wildlife is not stopped by biome edges...

So I have a sunken volcano. My fort is built so that it has a path up the mountain and goes down partway to a bridge that spans the volcano throat. Pretty win. Cept' that eventually, you see, it stops following the border and floats up over the volcano (and down onto the bridge).

!!FUN!! ensues.

Is there something I could put over the volcano aside from a floor to halt the cloud for next time? A grate, perhaps?

My clouds penetrate grates.  (That's how I do syndrome/husk research.)

He he he.  Yeah, it almost looks done...  alas...  those who are in your teens, hold on until your twenties...  those in your twenties, your thirties...  others, cling to life as you are able...<P>It should be pretty fun though.

I just floored over an entire volcano mouth.

Now the question becomes: in the event of a hypothetical eruption, which is stronger, the bones of the mountain... or dwarven floors?
