Grudgefest - how did I get there?
« on: March 17, 2012, 02:56:34 am »

My current fortress, in Autumn year 4, has accumulated a grand total of 19 grudges, on a population of 36 adult dwarves and 18 children.
12 of those grudges are held by just 2 dwarves (6 each).

The only 3 things those dwarves have in common are that they are both atheists, they are both mimitary captains, and they have a similar trait: "Is ruled by irresistable cravings and urges" vs "Has strong urges and seeks short-term rewards"

So I suppose, either the atheism, them being drillsergeants, or those traits to be responsible for them forming so many grudges, as there are no other common traits.

In any case, dwarven happiness seem to have no influence on forming grudges. My dwarves are ecstatic 24/7.

Can a fell mood occur in happy dwarves, if they have a grudge?

Wiki

Says the conditions are still unknown. Maybe it's just a slim chance that when their relationship evolves beyond acquaintance or something, it can become a grudge.
