metal quality for constuctoin purpose

dose a iron pick is better vs a copper pick

and same for the wood copper, i know it works incase of emergancy some one attacks, but how about recreation, cause i been makeing only copper pick and axe cause i am always low on iron

Pick quality doesn't matter for mining, but they do (IIRC) piercing and slashing damage.

check the wiki to see which material is best for those types of damage.

Steel is better than iron is better than copper for axes and picks if used in combat.  When used to cut trees or tunnel, it doesn't matter if you're using copper a higher-end metal.

It affects how good an item is in combat. A masterwork pick mines as quickly as a no-quality one, and a masterwork axe chops wood as well as a no-quality one.
