Vapor zombie is just another name for husk.

It generally goes [mist name] [randomly chosen husk name]

So you can have gloom thralls or dust zombies, it's the same thing.

It increases your strength and toughness, makes you immune to nerve damage, pain and exertion, removes your dependence on food and drink and sleep and makes everything try to kill you on sight (unless you are an elf, in which case some things remain non-hostile to you). It also may or may not affect your speed, more often does reduce it.

It is said knowledge is like a foul-smelling herb. It must be cooked well and thoroughly with experience to make it palatable. A young scholar's knowledge is therefore not only worthless but disgusting. -- In Dwarf Fortress you have another paradigm. Gather as much of that smelly herb as you can and toss it at your enemy, fracturing his skull through the +capybara man leather cap+.

How in Armok's good name is a necro tower causing problems for something that's undead and can't die? I mean, if you were LIVING, sure, they're tough, but you're a husk!

Unless you mean you're turning a non-husk character into a necromancer?

I think there was a report on this of a fort that had a large horde of husks shambling outside and the occasional zombie animals would fight them, with the dwarf watching from the sealed off safety of the fort. Husks, even if called zombie, seem to be still alive, in some way.
