Game of Dwarves will never have the complexity of DF- no magma, no pig tail fiber socks, no troll-fur dildos, no flying lungfish. So no, it is not a rip-off. It is merely an inferior* replica.

* Though since I haven't played it, I don't really know

Any management game involving dwarves will pretty much inevitably have a great deal in common with dwarf fortress, but that's not exactly a problem.  It's not like DF invented the idea of dwarves digging, building fortresses underground, making cool weapons, growing food underground, encountering forgotten horrors, or any of the other things people have cited as being evidence of it being a ripoff.

This is kind of like comapring Lord of the Rings to WoW.

I really dont care what happens to this game, it might get insanly popular, but really, who cares? How does this game being made/getting popular effect us in any way?  Its not gunna stop us from playing DF. If anything we are going to gain something from this, it might just end up like Minecraft, and just make DF more popular

There was a distinctive lack of 4 main things:

1)Carp
2)Badgers
3)MAGMA
4)Cave Adaption(Would've made a great interview background)
