I can't pronounce 'humanities'.

It comes out as 'Humanuttees'.

Embarrassing to the Nth, especially around friends who have accents of their own, they fall about laughing at my 'ocker accent'.

(my accent is more 'slightly english, slightly european aussie'... I believe it's referred to as Educated Australian, like how Stephen Fry has 'Educated English.)

I'm pretty sure that's how humanities is pronounced in a reasonable Australian accent. I've not heard much different anywhere.

You're definitely more in the clear than my Algorithmics lecturer, who without fail pronounces it 'algarivvum'

You should see the teachers at the local high school when they're teaching shakespeare.

"Jesu Maria, what a deal of brine
Hath wash'd thy sallow cheeks for ROZ-lin"

Yeah, apparently no one in the class ever thought that there was RHYMING in Shakespeare's prose.

Don't tell anyone that you can see their shadows. If they hear you telling anyone, if you let them know that you know of them, they will get you.

You could call them donjons, as I am sometimes fond of doing. Although a French person would question your knowledge of the meaning of that word.

You don't use freedom Penguin. First you demand it, then you have it.
No using. That's not what freedom is for.
