Help me out, I'm not sure if this is a bug or I'm going crazy...

In the init file, I have autosave on, set to save seasonally.  Autobackup on.

My fortress began in 1051.  The saves for 1051 - 1052 seem to be correct -- folders were created that are:

region2-spr-1051
region2-sum-1051
region2-aut-1051

...etc.

However!

Past winter 1052 everything seems to get messed up.

Now the folder saves are:

region2-win-1052-spr-1053
region2-win-1052-sum-1053

...etc.

This I wouldn't mind so much.  It makes loading games a bit messy but I can usually figure out the correct load of the correct autosave.

But!

Manual saving now seems to not work.  If I have a fortress going, and choose to "Save Game" - it takes a few seconds, like it usually does, doesn't throw any error messages or anything, and after a few seconds takes me back to the title screen.  Seems like it's working properly.

But when I got to load any manual saves, they simply don't exist.  DF shows only the seasonal autobackups.  Even going into windows explorer shows that the most recently modified file in my DF fortress folder was the auto-seasonal backup.  It's like manual saves just don't do anything.

Am I missing something?  Or just simply crazy?

Have you been loading the backups instead of the actual region? That's the only reason I can think of that would cause that to happen.
