Megabeasts Causing Crashes
« on: March 03, 2012, 03:47:26 pm »

It appears that my megabeasts are causing crashes during World Gen. Does anyone know why? They didn't cause any problem in 34.02, and are only crashing in the latest version.

Didn't do anything.

But I gave him a lair and the crashes stopped. Kind of odd.

I think it has something to do with HUMANOID_SIMPLE - Yeah I know it sounds cracked. But I've had access violation/segfaults with a creature simply trying to connect an appendage to the LOWER BODY. I get a crash 85% of the time as if the more "Mr. Bloated Tuber Man" bodies don't have the right number of sprocket holes or something.

I know you've probably already moved on from this, but I thought I'd toss it out there. I'd hate for all the work Sandbox -as they're known in the #dfhack channel on freenode- did to go to waste. if anyone can use it.

Had you tried switching to a more complex body? My own troubles are with a Fluffy Wambler derivative of enormous proportions and lead me to think that might also be a solution to this debacle.

Due to exhaustive testing (tag by tag shifting to and from an empty file)... I narrowed it down -in my instance- NOT to some weird BODY type issue... but to SEMIMEGABEAST. I comment it out and suddenly all is forgiven. Maybe if I made them lair hunters :/
