Hidden malady after treatment/recovery?
« on: March 24, 2012, 07:30:46 pm »

One of my miners had a bit of an accident right after embark which resulted in a broken hand and upper leg. Another dwarf with no prior medical experience rinsed her off with some stagnant water, butchered the pack animals and stitched her up with the thread he spun from horsehair, applied some cloth bandages, and fixed her up with a couple splints and a crutch. She climbed out of bed and hobbled off, back to work.

Amazingly, she survived.

Now, a season or two later, she has no visible wounds. Not even any scars. However, she still walks and mines excruciatingly slow. It takes her over twice as long to mine out a tile as another miner of the same skill level. Nothing listed on the health screen, and she's not hungry/thirsty/tired. I dumped her crutch in case it was caused by low crutch-walking skills, but no change.

Any idea what's wrong with her?

Oh well. I didn't expect her to survive at all; she's got heart.

Especially troubling was the combat report that she was "caught in a boiling cloud of magma," despite the accident happening on top of a dry, decidedly non-molten mountainside.

The full sentence is "X is caught in a cloud of boiling magma."

So 8.

Or 9.
