How to find out what causes crash
« on: March 04, 2012, 06:16:48 pm »

So my Fortress is segfaulting repeatedly at a specific point and I have all of no idea why. I've checked it across platforms, and its the same each time. Anyone have any idea how I could check what's causing it so I can submit a bug report? The errorlog has nothing relevant. I'm on linux, so remember that if you have any program suggestions.

If you're running the latest version, just upload the save and submit a bug report even if you don't know what's causing it - the worst case scenario is that it happens to be the same as an existing crash bug and your report gets closed as a Duplicate.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Alright, I'll go ahead and do that, thanks. I was planning on submitting a bug report after I found out what it was, but the policy wasn't clear for me if I could just go ahead and upload the save.
