Well let me go down the list
Note: This does not reference the examples... I am looking at the point.
7) This one I don't agree with... many games have taken multiplayer as their crutch and completely ignored the single player game.
6) I agree with 100%... games should not try to lengthen out games too much with activities that are not fun and that only serve to make the game longer
5) Alright this one is split... let me see... Saves everywhere? Depends. Long unskippable cutscenes... I agree it SUCKS (unless it is the FIRST time seeing them...). Ohh and one thing I HATE... yes the Instant Death Cutscenes... Though I really just hate those button pushing sequences in all forms.
Note: This section was possibly the WORST written out of the whole article... Why didn't anyone complain about this?
4) I agree with this section. Though I guess one way of making a Mundane weapon NOT mundane is to make it cool... The Crowbar still wasn't cool it was just a trademark of the series... You couldn't lets say... Jab it into a zombie's eye and then take their head off.
3) Ill skip this...
2) THERE IS NO REASON FOR ANYONE TO EVER DISAGREE WITH THIS SECTION!!!
-Ps. Dwarf Fort is not finished and is not a commercial game... so stop taking it as an attack on Dwarf Fort or Freeware gaming... THEY ARE EXEMPT.
1) Alright I agree... However let me rant about the all so creative Wii and DS
SURE they have the Wiimote and the Stylus... however both have given me a headache in different ways... Let me elaborate
The Wiimote: Yes I agree this is a GREAT controller. However there are two problems that have come from this
1) The Wiimote has been used as a crutch in many games that use the Wiimote in some interesting way but is in fact a shallow and extended Minigame... In fact once the joy of actually using the Wiimote is done there is not a lot to play on the Wii... I know this will change and soon people will stop buying games because "OMG this game lets you swing the Wiimote!!! that makes this game that would otherwise be in a Bargin bin NES game... INSTANTLY GOOD!!!" and start buying games that are "OMG, this game is actually pretty fun and fulfilling... and the fact that it uses the Wiimote in a fun and neat way only makes it that much better".
2) The Wiimote isn't THAT accurate: The Wiimote is used for a lot of games, however some have taken the required accuracy levels to heights that is just plain insane... Certainly if the sensors were PERFECT I could do all those Trauma Center missions (I like Trauma Center... even though it does kinda fall under #1... making my kinda of a hypocrit). Some games bring this frustration to new levels where your EXACT technique in moving the wiimote.
The DS
1) We got Duel Screens and a Stylus... Did we forget something?: How about a better setup of the handheld itself... maybe something for the screen...
2) Stylus worst case scenarios: I am SURE anyone who has played the DS has seen this... games that use the Stylus but do so in ways that are completely innapropriate for the game... Why do I have to click the screen above my character's head? Why can't I push up? Why do I have to push the screen? Why can't I press A?... I know it is the point of the DS to have the Stylus and a few of their good games but PLEASE I am not marrying it, I don't need to cram ever second of my DS life with the Stylus.
Do not get me wrong... I am a very ranty person and I can complain about things I like... I own a Wii and I like the very limited selection of games I own. I don't own the DS and the only reason I don't buy one is because I don't like how bad the screen wears down after a while (which would drive me insane).
Edit addition: Alright ALL my rant is out of me and I am happy again... Sorry to everyone I may have insulted on this topic.
