It's simple.  We KILL the batmen.

Fun fact, Goblins will steal the babies of unnamed civs.

I wonder what happens to them in legends...

This seems like a good excuse to create a large city, let an elite goblin flyer kill a bunch of your guys to pump him up a bit, and then have an epic fight. Bonus points if you can get some kind of Octopus person, perferably a doctor of some sort, to be involved as well. And if you have a vampire with good comedian skills, a joker if you will, you're set.
You know, flying green goblins and octopus doctors are usually associated with another animal person  :)
By the way, it's now possible to mod a reaction that will create a spider whose bite will transform a dwarf to another creature, all you need after that is to let goblin thief to stab his uncle which is also possible thanks to new migration system  :D

Animal men just sorta sit around and do nothing unless threatened.  Just ignore them or go up and slaughter them so you can take their wooden items and food.

go down, they're in the caverns

what if they kill all in my fortress? will the civ become historic? like named?

The civilization will not, but individual batmen that kill dwarves will get names and be recorded in history.

are you sure about that? legends is full of named outcast groups ...

Named outcast groups from unnamed civilizations, or from existing named ones?

An example is "The rampage of diamonds" in my legends. "A serpent man collection of outcasts from the eternal dimension" ... and since the eternal dimension is the world itself I have to say they're just random serpent men.
Also it lists 387/468 "civilizations and other entities" so that means about 80 of them are omitted. In historical figures baby goblins are omitted (you can see them in the parents relations but not in their own entry) which I assume is because they simply aren't important or interesting.
In a similar way the unnamed batman group MIGHT be an actual named one, only it hasn't had any significance at all and no named individuals and no designated leader either so you can't see their entry.
The name might be published once a batman makes a name for himself and kills dwarves but ... well I don't know. This is pure speculation. :) If I'm wrong in anything I hope to be corrected.
