go across the slime by using the door as a boat and poling along the bottom of the muck, I wouldn`t want to step on that!
Sail to the cabinet and open it.

Thinking quickly, you snatch one of the flatworms out of the muck, pressing the sample/extraction gun against it. Just as quickly, the chemical smell thickens as greasy yellowish slime oozes out of the flatworm's skin. There's a faint sizzling sound, and thin tendrils of vapor begin to rise from your gauntlet where the fluid from the thrashing worm smears. You take a sample, dropping the dying worm as quickly as you can. Thankfully, it looks like the damage to your gauntlet is superficial, although you don't want to think too hard about what would have happened if you were bare-handed.
The slime covering the floor is obviously corrosive, although whether it's acidic or alkaline will have to wait until you have a chance to anylize it.
The door is firmly fixed, and you can only force it about half-open. You briefly consider hauling the door from the unstable cell, but that would require entering it, and you don't have anything expendable to pole with.
While you ponder how to cross, you mix up a mutagen from the flatworm sample.

So, analyze that slimey muck. Ponder method of catching and containing a couple of flatworms- it'd be nice to have something to test mutagens on before blindly injecting them into ourselves.

...I wonder what would happen if you injected a human(?) blood mutagen into a creature.

Like, we take the flatworm/blood mutagen, and inject it into a flatworm.

More importantly, what if we made a mutagen for flatworms- say, flatworm/glowing-fungus, and then injected that into us?

You load some of the muck into your anylizer and set it to work.
You're against animal testing on principle, not only is it unethical, but the animals in question tend to leave a blast crater that glows for weeks.
As an Alchemist, your Erg flow adapts your biology, allowing you to make use of mutagens that would be lethal to others, as well as directly graft biological materials to yourself for protection or to gain new abilities. As it stands, you can purge mutagens from your system, although it's exhausting, ruins the mutagen, and burns a lot of your internal Erg.
As you ponder, you make a Ferrous/Osseous Mutagen, and down the ???/Planarian Mutagen.
Your skin goes curiously numb, and a foul taste coats your tongue. You spit, experimentally, and the resulting bolus of yellow fluid sizzles against the wall.
Your Anylizer pulses. The grit consists of metallic solids in oil and a strong acid, laced with fungus mycellum and decaying animal material.

Ah. Oh well.
Well, make the trek back to our starting point, grab the door we broke, then drag it back here so we can cross the acid and maybe check out those filing cabinets- might be something worth reading in them.

Backtracking to just outside the original cell, you contemplate the door you tore from its hinges. Now that supernatural vitality isn't racing through your body, you're fairly sure that the slab of metal is well outside your ability to move. Not wanting to just give up, you take hold of the top of the door and give it an experimental heave. The door lifts, but a loud pop from your left shoulder is almost drowned out by the thud as it comes down on your foot. The next few minutes are a thoughtful exploration of your vocabulary.
You carefully free your foot, and force your shoulder back into alignment.
It seems the impact of the door knocked another wall panel loose, next to the open hole you noticed earlier. You could probably pry a couple panels off, and use them to cover the floor in the room with the flatworms.

Start prying at the panels. Pry like there's no tomorrow!

Pry while remaining clear of the muck! But yes, prying.
