Human Traders AWOL?
« on: November 09, 2007, 08:26:00 pm »

My last two fortresses never saw any human traders, ever, in about 3 or 4 years of gametime.  This, despite having a perfectly flat area and having made sure I was within a "human" civilization when selecting the zone (It always seems to say human, dwarf, goblin, elf anyway).  Am I missing something?  Is there a way to make sure you're withing their trade route when choosing a starting spot?  The dwarves won't bring squat since their liason went crazy, and the elves won't accept my bone crafts and food.   :(

If you started inside a human town, I do not believe they will trade with you.

There wasn't any town nearby that I could tell.  Indeed, outside of the tab-screen that shows the extent of dwarven civs, I don't know how to tell where human towns are.  I've seen the occasional 3x3 square on the region map represented by different symbols, but I don't know how to tell which is which, nor have I ever built near one.
