I got killed by a computer
« on: February 24, 2012, 06:14:51 pm »

so apparently my recent adventurer got killed by a were monitor twisted into human form.

Now I know this means the monitor lizard, but I was scraching my head until I googled it. It would be kinda nice if it was monitor lizard instead of just monitor.

Was it LCD or CRT? I doubt an LCD monitor would be able to hit you easily.

It honestly feels like a lot of their problems came from the fact that their entire team was composed of cats, and the people who were supposed to be herding them were also cats.

and as we all know range is not something to be laughed at, it gets you an arrow in your face.

300 human/elf/dwarf/goblin/kobold bodies 20 random animal/fish/bird bodies and 3 dragon bodies all in one backpack. fun stuff.

I guess you haven't encountered a gigantic twisted ass or a huge deformed bitch yet.

Never heard of a monitor lizard? Pretty certain they're the ones with the whip-tails.

Whip-tails.

Lightsabres.

Unfortunately, in DF, monitor lizards don't have whip tails.

Pictured: human wrestler vs monitor lizard.

People buy these things when they're small, cute and relatively harmless. They grow to about five feet, they're carnivorous, and they've killed owners who kept big ones and fell asleep with the cage door open. I have no explanation for the picture whatsoever.

All in all, a MUCH better creature to lose to than a were-ass.

Never had a bat massacre people with an axe before.
EDIT2: Oh god, the bat has got a title now.

And let's not forget about komodo dragons, the largest species of monitor lizard (and the largest lizard, period). They primarily feed on carrion, but they'll still attack deer and humans - plus the largest komodo dragons can apparently get to around 3 meters long (around 10 feet).

Komodo Dragons, as narrated by Sir David Attenborough

Komodo Dragons are built similarly to, but much bigger than crocs and are poisonous, to boot.  A monitor lizard is nothing to sneer at.
