Praise Armok! Adamantine!
« on: February 23, 2012, 03:45:05 pm »

After a long time of playing dwarf fortress, I have mined 118 adamantine in this fortress, for the first time.
SUCCESS! Glory to armok! Praise the miners! Break out the wine!

EDIT:I'm a village now! Praise the miners!

Also, if you've got wooden furniture in the dining hall, you have some big issues anyways.
This is Dwarf Fortress, not the Fluffy Wambler Express.

I had to savescum because I continually released hordes of demons.
I did send the legendary hammer lords. They all died. And killed one demon.

Well, you could always try what your name would suggest and carve fortifications first.

I'm an engraver. I do not make fortifications.
I make engravings of purring maggots in the king's bedroom.

Well, fortifications fall under the engraving skill, and I suppose you could call them similar, minus the intended purpose and general level of artistry...

Nonsense!  The countless hours you spent honing your trade polishing up the hallways to the royal privy have made you more versatile than you realize!

Carving a fortification is well within your grasp, oh maker of ironically sardonic images!

However, you should be aware of the occupational hazards associated with carving a fortification on the HFS. Some the clowns like to spray acid out of their lapels, and some have comically explolsive flatulence. Both can race right through the fortification slit!

I suggest training your agility first!

Now, I know it's significantly harder to weaponize, but won't Ice sculpturization also kill the clowns?

Export ice sculptures of demons made from demons encased in ice to the elves living in a Hot Biome.

Teehee.

The last time I experienced the "meatcicle" phenomenon, it destroys the body completely, similarly to obsidian casting.

Granted, that was in 40d.  I am allergic to that kind of fun, so I avoid creation of meatcicles whenever possible.

And some clowns pass through fortifications. Scary.
