Elves robbed by accident
« on: May 13, 2008, 07:35:00 pm »

Greetings!

I'm a novice at this game. The other day, I dismantled my trading depot while the elf caravan was still there.  (It's a long story.)  Anyhow, after I did that, the elves' stuff was scattered on the ground, and my dwarves quickly claimed it and gleefully carried it off to my stockpiles.  Do the elves know I robbed them?  Will this effect my relationship with them?  I want them to bring me a tame elephant, dang it.

I'm pretty sure that only time will tell, but I'll be darned if that isn't the funniest story I have heard all day. They will trade eventually.

Don't worry Mcloon, at this point they can't really tear you a new arse or nothin from what I understand.  If you damaged your position with them you can always gift them with stuff later if you feel obligated.  I don't bother trading with them any more, useless for how I run my forts... so I'd say no real loss either way

Who cares, they're pointy eared bastards anyway.

I have been stealing whatever I want from every caravan and killing random traders whenever I want after the elven diplomat kept cracking wise about my mayor's stature.

Bitch please.

The elves came back without my tamed elephant.  I demolished the trade depot out from under them again.  Hmm, maybe next time, I'll mine under the depot.  When they come back, I'll mine out the few blocks of earth I left and see if elves can fly.

Build some floodgates and lock them in once they arrive, or better yet read up on pumps and fill the area with water.

Wow, two more replies already! Anyhow, I just wanted to point any concerned readers to the existing bug report here.

This exploit is going to be really tempting.  :(

There are easier ways to claim what is rightfully yours.

You can just ask them to give you all the goods you want.
