Stories based on your dreams
« on: February 21, 2012, 11:10:42 am »

Do you have any? I've begun writing one, it's purely for interest of friends and girlfriend, not at all meant to be a commercial quality story, but obviously i'd like it to be at least moderately fun to read.

Ideas? criticisms? I don't write much, and this was done very fast. Much of the language I will go over and revise later, a content draft only this is. Not a complete chapter, doing more later.

*I will be adding more of this, eventually all of it will be on here, I feel it's the least I can do in return for comments on it. I plan to finish it in a couple of weeks. I'm still pretty sick though, so writing is dependant on me not feeling so bad.

I had a dream I was on some sort of beach standing next to a small shack. There was a hispanic man standing there talking to me, but I wasn't listening. Then a wave washed over us, but we were still standing there talking. It was quite strange. I don't know how anyone could possibly write a story about that.

I had a dream that I was in a Dieselpunk world. I was a logger who used a mech to log in a forest filled with dangerous monsters. It was a pretty fun dream.

I've had recurring waking dreams (while awake, mind you, and sometimes when asleep) of every sci-fi comic/movie/TV series all living in the same universe with the rules of reality also applying (very minimal Hollywood physics applying, and plenty of what we're used to living in); after a good enough amount of time having it all brew and evolve together over a decade, what an end result became was probably one of the cooler more unique universes for a great deal of my dreams to come from.

There are stories all over the place that come from that universe, which also has some multiverses within itself as well. I can try to remember some of them that have come up, complete with some illustrations, well, at least of what I've seen in them. Really cool stuff from time to time.

Any dream stories i'd write would probably come across as bad self-insert fanfic, because most of my dreams come from when i've watched a movie before bed, and dream-logic means that i'm involved in the story.
