If I were to make an elevated platform, could the marksdwarves I put up there shoot at incoming goblins?

I think its bugged. Havent tried it yet, but there were some posts about this issue.

Dwarves cannot aim above or below them, at all; the shots will just go straight.

Yes but its a bug, they should be able to fire up/down, just like all creatures with ranged weapons.

Well yeah, of course it's a bug, but they still can't do it.
