Serial civilization changers.
« on: February 23, 2012, 05:29:03 pm »

So in my newest fort, a glacial fort in a Terrifying biome on a volcano, all of my dwarven migrants have been members of 4-5 civilizations each. None of them are vampires. What gives?

Imagine the will it took to create a fortress like this. And what have you elves built? Nothing. You can only loot and break. You're not dwarves!! You're just termites at Versailles.

It's not that I don't suffer, it's that I know the unimportance of suffering, I know that pain is to be fought and thrown aside, not to be accepted as part of one's soul and as a permanent scar across one's view of existence.

You sure they're not vampires? Otherwise they're probably just Dwarfs who formed their own civ to flee from an attack, returned, formed a new civ e.t.c...

Positive. The horrifyingly hostile environment of my fort necessitates that the entrance looks like one of those cartoon top secret security doors anyway, wasn't too hard to include a vampire checkpoint waiting room.

If it helps i could tell you that, to ensure that a location such as the one I'm at existed, I ramped up the evil zones and volcano to a hilarious degree. Maybe the fact that most of the planet is covered in evil biomes is to blame somehow?

That would certainly increase the chances of them forming civs, running away, re-forming, etc.

OK, I have to reload the save.
There was a bit of a problem regarding flashfreezing, a ballistae, and a barrel of dwarven ale. Gonna fix it up.
