Hi everyone!

I've played a fortress in 0.34.01 and abandoned it in the 5th year, because no sieges happened and couldn't find a way into the circus. Just two ambushes in the first or second year and nothing more. Then I downloaded the 0.34.02 and genned a new world. I'm in the 4th year's summer and still no sieges, no ambushes, no nothing. Just a bunch of kobold and goblin thieves and snatchers.

In both forts I have 200 dwarves and about half million of wealth.

A friend of mine is also playing, but in an evil biome. He had just a single siege; an undead one. But the goblins don't show up. Three unlucky embarks or are sieges bugged?

Just had a gobbo siege, 3.9m dorfbucks, 129 pop (74 of which are children lol).

Half a mil wealth for 200 dwarves sounds really low?

eta: Just got another, ~6 months later. Barely had time to bury the dead. In fact this one might kill me, tons of goblins on riders + trolls.

Sieges still happen. Maybe your settlement was far away from the goblin civ, or the goblins became extinct through the history(really rare, but happens). And if you start a settlement on an island, only dwarves can reach you.

Maybe goblins are mostly dead?

They seem to be kind of rare in current version, will most likely be fixed in next patch according to devlog if I recall right. Toady said something about making goblin fortresses have more than hundred goblins.

^Hes getting kobold and goblin thieves, so thats not possible.

My wealth is even a lot lower (I think), but around 130 dwarves. (of which 50% is between 12-16 and 25% is kid and the final 25% are either my starting dwarves, or mostly vampires I think)

I got my first siege in the third year "Beware the dead are walking!" or something, I unpaused and I got "A vile force of evil appears!".
Havent finished that battle yet, but the goblins are basically trying to kill the necromancers and the other way around.

Maybe is for the low wealth. The only metal I have is silver, I'm getting the iron and steel from the traders, but they don't bring much. Probably that's hurting my wealth. Any tips for rising it?

But well, if you say the goblins still siege, then they'll show up sooner or later. Thanks for the answers.

Btw, the goblin civ is named "The Hate of Hammers". Probably they don't want to get anywhere near my masterwork silver warhammers.

Masterwork food, masterwork silver crafts, masterwork trap components are all highly valuable in dwarf bucks.

Generally just make an industry and make tons of masterwork stuff.

If you have lots of silver you could make sure every piece of furniture in your fortress is masterwork silver, for example. If you have plenty of wood, make lots of masterwork beds.

This also makes your dwarfs happy.
