Just let me build walls on floors damn it

What's the deal here? Is it because they both work as buildings that you can't just place a wall on the floor? Would it be that much of a hassle to fix?

It's because they are both buildings, yes.

I think there is some plan to rework constructions to make them more similar to unmined rock, for damage/ siege purposes when that stuff is implemented.


What are you trying to do exactly? I've never really had a problem with needing to build a wall on a floor, but I only build lazy, squarish, simple structures so I dunno.

I just made the hole for the door in the wrong spot and got frustrated because I had to remove it. It's not really an ISSUE just a minor nuisance.

This has been suggested before, in fact i think you can find the previous thread for this a page or two back.

I definitely support allowing floors to be built on walls, but use the search funtion to see if something's already been suggested next time, otherwise you'll attract the attention of Footkerchief. You'll see what i mean in a minute, i bet.
