Some kind of god-mode or manual stats change?
« on: February 18, 2012, 08:40:33 am »

I'm fed up of being murdered on my way to a necromancer's lair, is there any way to artificially make it easier to win fights until I get there?

One word. Runesmith.

Get it here. With it you can manually modify skills and attributes. Also instant-death for annoying enemies is possible. However it seems to be for 0.31, at least for now.

Then why did you post it?

My suggestion is fiddling whit the raws.
Tough im not sure how that will work out.
Best thing that you can do is make a new creature thats exactly the same as humans, but has some epic breath attack or something.
Modding forum could help you on this.

sneak slow travel everywhere

you'll be legendary ambusher by the time you get there.  If you have some swimming you can also laugh at the rivers which normally stop companions (seriously, why can no one, in these worlds that are covered in water, swim roughly 3 meters without drowning?)

if you're lucky you'll be able to actually bring companions with you
even though you'll have to fight their corpses when they eventually die, the problems they cause for the necros and zombie horde make them worth it.
plus, you can use them to bait the inhabitants outside.

Are there any guides on raw-editing to make an unstoppable adventurer?

I once used runesmith to make a MAXED OIT killing machine... getting surounded by peasants killed even that. So no such thing as an immortal adventurer.

300 human/elf/dwarf/goblin/kobold bodies 20 random animal/fish/bird bodies and 3 dragon bodies all in one backpack. fun stuff.

But your adventure's stats MUST be kept somewhere in the raws. Or maybe you can mod it so that you get more points to distribute among your skills. But where?

The key to beating the necro tower is kiting and pebbles

If adamantine is perfectly rigid, as shown by having 0 strain at fracture in the raw files, then the speed of sound in the metal approaches the speed of light. Adamantine musical instruments would produce ultrasonic vibrations, and cut off the fingers of the musician.

Too much work editing.
For this i only had to paste a little bit of code in entity_default and add [HEALING_RATE:1] in the bronze collosus.
(ofcourse, after setting penetration and contact perc to 555555555555)

Wouldn't that make you incredibly easy to throw? Wait a minute...

Things are about to get really interesting in my raw files.

Or you could just replace all instances of the word "bronze" with
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
.

And then copypasta in fire-imp fireball and breath attacks.

You know, if you really wanna.

When I was reorganizing my inventory to fit all by books on life and death into various bags and things, I looked at my inventory and saw that I was multigrasping a necromancer slab.  It was pretty hilarious.
I think that would be an excellent way to impart the critical lessons of life and death to the ignorant masses.

Become a VAMPIRE!!!! No, seriously, it'll make the tower almost laughably easy because the zombies won't attack you.

One thing you can do is this:
  • Download, install, and run Cheat Engine.
  • Run DF, and get to the screen where you assign skill/attribute points in adventure mode.
  • In Cheat Engine, open the DF process, then search for the value that is equal to the skill points you have.
  • Spend some skill points.
  • Enter the new amount of available skill points into Cheat Engine and click "Next Search". There should now only be one memory address in the left-hand box. Double-click that address so it's in the bottom box, then double-click its value and change it to something really high.
  • Repeat, but for attribute points as well.
