How can I kill a target sewer monster with DF hack?

I tried using reveal and magma to kill the leaders but only 2 were on screen and neither were the target and I couldn't go north following a sewer trail because there was a wall in the way,can I somehow drain the sewer of water or something?

EDIT never mind found another sewer trail that had a leader in it,blasted him with magma and it turned out he was quest target

Try encasing them in obsidian. 8)

And that's what happened but the problem was I was afraid that he was too deep in a sewer trail and my character couldn't breathe water
