Alright, not sure if the current link on the front page is up-to-date, but I'll sign you up. I don't think that we've had the everything pile for some time.

21st Malachite, 505

Chairman Atir was down in the catacombs, or what passed for catacombs around here. Despite the countless who had died so far for the glory of the Workers, only four small chambers for coffins had been delved to house them. It wasn't enough. But despite the Gaxcist armies waiting outside their door, despite the utter confusion of labor and jobs, despite the corpses reeking in the halls and the so-called sick-beds, some things just had to be done. It was time to lay the founder of the Revolution to rest.

All the founders, even the two co-chairmen after them, were dead. The Glorious Leader, HugoLuman, had been maimed in a roof collapse back in 502, and wasted away in his sickbed when a battle prevented others from caring for him, an inglorious end for such a person. Though originally intended to have his body displayed and preserved for future generations, his emaciated frame made this impractical. He would rest alongside the other founders in stone coffins. At least, the founders whose bodies had been recovered.

"We are gathered here today to lay to rest the father of Communism, a dwarf of incredible willpower-"

"PRRRROTOCOL HAS NOT BEEN FOLLOWED!" A booming voice shook the room. The dwarves jumped at the sound, but after a few moments calmed, for nothing further happened. But the moment they relaxed, small streaks of lightning began to dance around the room. Suddenly, the lid of the recently closed coffin shot up into the ceiling, shattering into a cloud of dust. Atir coughed, momentarily blinded by this, but when the dust cleared he could see a fist raised up from the coffin.

HugoLuman sat up, a look of rage on his face. "Who dares name themselves Chairman!? I was not aware of my resigning! Are you a traitor who defies the laws of the Workers!?"

Atir was dumbfounded, but he did not get where he was by buckling under pressure. Quickly recovering, he said "Most honorable HugoLuman, you did in fact die..."

"And where in the People's Proletariat Constitution does it say that dying relieves the Chairman of office? It may be an oversight in the rules, true, one that could need correction, but without the strictest interpretation of our rules, what stops an upper class from taking over? I will not rest while people are breaking the laws!"

"But-"

"Atir, isn't it? You're a stoneworker aren't you? Well, I say you are reasigned to the dorms, I will be taking my quarters and office back!"

Atir watched HugoLuman stride purposefully out of the crypt, then looked at the People's Commissar of Supernatural Affairs. "Looks like this job may be more than you bargained for, Misha."

glad to see the communist fortress back to life! afaik any dwarf is going to return as ghost if not memorialized properly, but it may take more time sometimes. Nanomage's ghost should soon return, too.

Everyone talks about Dwarf Fortress inevitably leading to tragedies of epic proportions full of chaos and confusion, but I have never dealt with anything like this before. I'm tempted to just flood the fort with Magma.

EDIT: So much crazy shit happening, It may take some time to make my post. But great merciful penguin, this place is a mess.

Okay, here's what's up. I can't use my fast computer right now (maintenance) and this fort actually lagged on it (a quad core!), so you can imagine how it runs on this laptop.

So reallllllllllllllllly sorry, but this is going to be delayed for a while :(

Regrettably, the small chance I was nursing of keeping this alive has died; the game computer died :(

Rest in peace, our broken Revolution. One day the working Dwarf shall rise again!

Well, I did well enough last time, and I've got a copy of the Little Red Book.

If the save is still up, I might as well take another turn.

:D it is! Just consider my narrative retconned. Or you could do the same, with DFusion and Runesmith
