You don't, you look for a sewer acess instead. they are stairs going down to the sewers. They are shown when you are using the city travel map.

Just found them myself. Look for down ramps in narrow crevices between buildings.

Is anyone able to post a screenshot on how this is supposed to look like during fast travel, and normal travel?
I wandered through the whole city a few times, and I cant seem to find the sewer entrance, and my current quest is to kill a reptile man which is supposed to be there.

You can find it while in fast travel in town.  Just look for "sewer access" in the same box where store names, etc are listed.  Once found, zoom in and look for stairs going down from ground level.

I just found my first sewer entrance in this way and descended only to get attacked by a tribe of 20 amphibian men & women.  I had a maceman & spearman with me, who both fell into the central canal and died drowning while getting swiss cheesed by tower cap spears & darts.  Fortunately, they served as a sufficient distraction which allowed me to to disembowel and otherwise dismember all but one of the frogmen with my silver scimitar.  It was an exciting fight, leaving the sewers covered in mutilated corpses and excessive just enough gore and gibbets.  The lone survivor is somewhere out of sight.  I can hear him retching.
