Everyone's a tree-hugger
« on: February 15, 2012, 08:23:46 am »

Be careful around wildlife. It seems if some is caught in the middle of a fight between you and something else and you happen to kill an innocent boar the whole civilization will hate and attack you.

The only way to undo this seems to be resting a while as a peasant (retire adventurer). When you start a new game with that adventurer they will no longer hate you.

Can anyone confirm this?

I'm not sure about retire-undo, but if someone kills a member of group or faction (boar) it automatically become an enemy of that civ/group.

It seems like there was a mistake in civilization-member tags, or something new was discovered.

And having a whole civilization (I guess you mean sentient races right?) hate you because you did attack an animal does not mean Elves.

It's no mistake, attacking a member of a group or faction has always caused the entire group to hate the attacker. Now it just happens that domestic animals exist in the world, and are similarly counted in the group.

Once Toady expands on Adv. mode crime and AI I imagine NPCs will become smarter about murder.
