Cavern Issues

Every cavern I have delved into has been completely devoid of water and all plant life. I don't use any mods, but I generate my worlds with a higher mineral density, because I'm lazy. Do you know why this might be?

You got dry caverns.

You reclaimed, and thus removed all mud.

This is first run. First embark, no reclaim, but it's still dry.

Dry caverns just happen randomly.  Sometimes all 3 levels of cavern will be dry but sometimes only 1 or 2.  You'll still get blood thorns from the 3rd caverns if nothing else when all the caves are dry.

The flood will be muddy with nothing growing.  If one of the lower levels has plant life, the dry caverns will start growing things when you break into them.

If this problem persists, raise the minimum water levels in caverns using world gen to [1], [10], [25] or something other.
