Civ proximity

Does proximity to a civ you are at war with mean they will visit you more often? For example if you settled down right next to a bunch of goblins would you get more snatchers than usual? I'm guess not but you never know.

No, I'm fairly certain that proximity to a civ doesn't really have any benefits or drawbacks with the exception of being certain that they have access to your fortress.

Know that they will arrive at a set time of year, and only at that time. Maybe crossing over into the first few weeks of the next season.

No other use of embarking near an enemy civilization, though.
