Siege behaviour and possibly slaves
« on: February 12, 2012, 06:49:54 am »

Hi, I've been having a lot of problems during attacks, because my dwarves keep going outside and get killed. I think that you should implement a new order, an under attack order, where all the dwarves will stay in the meeting hall, or other areas that you allow, except for soldiers. It would help the game realistics. I mean, do civilians really run toward battle during war?

Another thiing is slavery. I noticed that you can cage sentient being that attack you. This can be worked on, as maybe place another noble, a slavemaster. He would require a slave dungeon. That would be an area designated for slaves, where they will sleep and eat, and stay when there is no work. They would require half as much food and drink as a normal dwarf, but would only be able to do hauling jobs. Presence of millitary force would keep them from rioting. Providing them with beds and tables will make them more efficient, as well as having a skilled slavemaster. Of course, slavemaster would have to be doing this job at all times.
This will also open up the possibility of slave trade, wich would of course be someting the elves are against. Limiting the number of slaves would be wise, perhaps based on your slavemasters skill, or the overall population, or the strenght of your millitary.

Dwarfs are against slavery and you can use alerts to burrow your citizens.

As shown by a search for "slavery", this is one of the most suggested topics of all time:

As Peskyninja has said, the Dwarves abhor slavery of sentient beings so I don't think we'll see any Dwarven slave industry any time soon, but playable goblins and humans and elves are planned features. At least that way you could enjoy a slaving industry of some kind.
