I'll be there on Day One.  It's been a little while since I've had serious !!FUN!! in DF without resorting to something like fortress defense or breaching the circus.

I wanna see my corpse stockpile rise and attack the fortress from the inside.  I think this alone might make fort design require some rethinking...

Urist McMigrant: "Urist, why are you laying traps in the corpse stockpile?  Everything is dead."
Urist McEngineer: stops a moment, fingers long, jagged scar on side of face, grins evilly and keeps laying out traps

I don't understand, though that is about right with anything DF related.
I just hope he dies the same death that all dwarfs deserve: liver disease.

Just do what I did. Learn to graft the graphics pack from last version into the new one while you wait for the official release to cover all the new critters.

I just realized two things. 1. For the Win and F___ the World have the same initials. 2. They have the same meaning in Dwarf Fortress.

I'm going straight to the nearest most haunted (terryfieng iirc) zone and get ready for some FUN zombie attacks, blood rain (for the blood god of course) and the MISTS of dooooooooooooooom.

I just realized, after adding the new body parts to the other races, that I have an entire squad of dwarves with a shield in each hand and swinging their axes with their penises. There's nightmare fuel for those goblins, in more ways than one.

I check the front page several times per day hoping to see a change in numbers. *clicks* Aww, not updated yet.

Also, I'm really excited about the new stuff - and while it looks like we're getting a fair deal of adventure stuff, the fortress updates will be cool as well. I do fear that the utilities I use a lot (like Dwarf Therapist) gets updated fairly soon, but I will just have to learn to set jobs through the game.

Urist McDoctor recommends a healthy magma bath to minimize the risk for infection.

In one fort I had war elephants riding camels into battle. I can imagine the war elephants taming them simply by picking them up and dropping them in a coral. I still don't understand how you can fit a few ton elephant onto camel though.

I'm ambivalent, really. I like this version just fine. I guess I'll like the next one just fine, too, though.

Most likely not, all things considered... even if you're just modding something in, you usually have to re-gen a world to get it anyway. I have to imagine that several completely rehashed mechanics would require the same.
