well I thought I'd let you all know, that it appears to be working now, I think it had something to do with running it in fullscreen, cause im running it in a windowed format, and its holding up, now if someone can point me towards some comprehensive newbie tips that would be great  ;)

Glad to hear you can play now. You'll probably want to read Surviving Your First Winter and Starting Builds.

thanks, I will deffinately check those out, it seems things will be daunting for the first while, but I guess you get the hang of it with practice
